When organizers of Waterloo Region’s tri-Pride festival cancelled the 2016 edition of their event, they vowed to be back and bigger than ever in 2017.

To that end, more than 30 events have been announced for this year’s LGBTQ+ pride celebration.

The festival runs from May 23 until June 4, when it finishes up with a march and picnic at Kitchener City Hall. June 3 brings a music festival to Victoria Park.

Most events take place in downtown Kitchener, with a few happening in other parts of Waterloo Region and into Wellington County.

More information on the various events can be found on the festival’s website.

When last year’s festival was cancelled, organizers blamed a declining volunteer base. A new board of directors was then elected and tasked with getting the festival back up and running.
