Emergency responders were called to the intersection of Bingemans Centre Drive and Shirley Drive at 4:50 p.m.

Waterloo Regional Police said the cyclist, a 16-year-old girl, had serious injuries and was transported by Ornge helicopter to a hospital outside the region.

The intersection was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
