John Douglas Robinson took the stand for a third day at his murder trial in Woodstock, and faced the prosecution for the first time.

Robinson has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of Clifford Fair, but has admitted in court to hitting him with a metal pipe.

While he has testified that he didn't intend to kill Fair, the Crown accused him of committing the murder out of pure jealousy.

The Crown referred to the testimony of his then-girlfriend Amy Gilbert, who told the court he was abusive and very jealous of any man who went near her.

The prosecutor also alleged that Robinson believed Fair had had sex with Gilbert, though that is something she has denied.

There was also reference to the fact that Robinson often checked Gilbert's cell phone and was always keeping tabs on her.

The Crown alleges Clifford Fair was in competition for Gilbert and that was why Robinson wanted him dead.

Robinson denied all of the allegations.

On Tuesday, Robinson had told the court he just wanted Fair to leave his apartment because he was drinking the beer he had bought for himself and Gilbert.
