Perth Line 26 was closed between Road 109 and Oxford/Perth boundary Friday morning due to a crash between two transport trucks.

The OPP closed the road just west of Tavistock around 6 a.m. to investigate the crash and to clean up partial load spills on the roadway. It remained closed until just before noon.

Police are unsure of the circumstances that lead to the crash.  One truck came to rest in a farmer’s field on the north side of the road.

A third vehicle, a pickup truck, was also in the ditch. Police believe it lost control attempting to evade the collision between the two transports.

The driver of the transport truck in the field was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
