Snow can mean plows and shovels, but among other things in Goderich this winter, it means more coyotes.

Animal Control Officer Bob Trick says it's a case of the animals going where the food is.

Trick says there have been more sightings of coyotes in Goderich this winter, mainly because of the amount of snow in rural areas.

He says it's easier for a coyote to feed on small pets in town than to chase a deer in deep snow.

Trick is advising people to keep pets indoors as much as possible.
