Police have arrested the leader of a church outside Owen Sound who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Provincial police say 55-year-old Frederick Madison King was arrested in Hamilton without incident after investigators were alerted late Friday night that he was likely at a hotel in the city.

King disappeared after members of the Church of Jesus Christ Restored in Chatsworth went to police in 2012 with allegations of physical and sexual assault.

The suspect has been charged with 10 counts of assault and also multiple counts of assault with a weapon, uttering death threats, assault causing bodily harm and sexual assault.

King also faces one count each of sexual exploitation and sexual interference.

He's due in court on Monday to face the allegations.
