It’s the time of year when deer are on the move and drivers are being urged to pay extra attention to avoid hitting them.

In Perth County, an average of two car/deer collisions have been reported each day since the beginning of November.

OPP say that number isn’t unusual in Perth County, as they typically respond to about 55 collisions involving deer in the area in November.

Deer often spend more time on the move during this time of year, as it is their mating season.

Collisions involving deer can occur at any time of day, but OPP say common times include 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
