If you’ve had enough of the snow, slush and cold snaps – you’re not alone.

Over the next month thousands of Canadians will travel south in search of warmer weather.

It was less than a week ago, getting around town was chore and snow was being piled high.

Nellie Follings, a travel consultant for Golliger’s Travel Plus in Waterloo, says they’ve been busies than last year.  It seems the winter weary is looking for last minute travel deals.

“This year especially February, all of sudden we just got dumped on even this morning I still had people wanting to get away next week because they have just had enough of the snow.”

While Mexico, Florida and Cuba are traditional March Break destinations, over the last few years the Dominican Republic and Latin America have been hot spots for Canadians looking for a winter break.

Janine Chapman from selloffvacations.com says if travellers can adjust their vacation by a day or two, they are some good deals available.

“We’ve been advising people that if they can take an extra day or two to leave on the Thursday and the Friday or maybe the Monday and Tuesday you can get up to 70% off with the original brochure price while the inventory is still available.”

Agents say it’s not too late to book if you need a break.
