A fundraising effort at Bruce Power in Tiverton has raised 180 thousand dollars to help Goderich rebuild.

One man died and 37 others were injured when a tornado cut a swath through Goderich on August 21st.

The fundraising effort at Bruce Power consisted of a gate collection that was matched dollar-for-dollar by the company.

Goderich Mayor Deb Shewfelt says the money will be put to good use.

Text donations can also be made in support of the Goderich Tornado Relief Fund from August 23 to August 31. To make a $5.00 donation, text "UCARE" to 45678.

Donations to the Goderich Disaster Relief Fund can now be made at any bank or Credit Union. Cheques made out to the Goderich Disaster Relief Fund can also be mailed to the Goderich Town Hall at 57 West St. Goderich, ON N7A 2K5.

A fundraising committee has also been established to raise funds towards restoring the heritage buildings and lost trees of Goderich. Their website, www.edgefund.org, will be operational as of August 29th.
