Gregory William Pickard, 40, who works at a Brantford group home for youths, has been charged with possessing child pornography.
Pickard is also reportedly actively involved in working with children and youth at his church in the community, police say.
The charges follow a search of his Magnolia Street home by Brantford Police on the morning of Jan. 1. Police say several items were seized at the residence.
Pickard made a court appearance by video link on Jan. 2, however the investigation is ongoing.
