Police in Brantford are searching for a suspect after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint.

The incident began shortly after 8:30 p.m. Saturday, when the driver picked up a passenger on Colborne Street East.

The passenger was then driven to an apartment building on Grey Street.

After telling the driver to pull around the back of the building, the passenger allegedly pulled out a steak knife and demanded money.

Police say he left the cab with cash, and without injuring the driver.

The man is described as white and approximately six feet tall, with an average build and some facial hair.

According to police, he was wearing a black hoodie with white print and a brown or red turtleneck, and was caught on a surveillance camera – but has not yet been arrested.
