A six-year-old boy has serious injuries after he was struck by a car in Kitchener.

The boy was with his family on Hidden Creek Drive shortly before 4 p.m.

It’s not yet clear what happened, only that the boy was struck by a car.

The boy had broken bones in his legs and a cut to his head.

He was taken by ambulance to Grand River Hospital and then airlifted to another hospital.

His injuries are serious, but not life-threatening.

Police are still investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision, but say speed or impairment are not contributing factors.
