PORT DOVER, Ont. - Provincial police have a lead in a fatal hit-and-run near Port Dover, Ont., last month.

The Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto has determined the vehicle that hit 20-year-old Chad Everets, of Port Hope, was light beige, likely a GM vehicle made between 2000 and 2003.

Investigators say it could have been a Chevy Venture, Oldsmobile Silhouette, Chevy Malibu, Pontiac Grand AM or Oldsmobile Alero.

Evidence also suggests a silver Ford vehicle made between 1984 and 1994 was also at the scene, about 25 kilometres south of Brantford.

Everets died while walking down Cockshutt Road, north of Port Dover, in the early hours of May 14.
