Daily, non-stop flights from the Region of Waterloo International Airport to Montreal's Trudeau Airport are scheduled to begin on May 1.
The service is expected to begin with five daily flights (three direct and two via Ottawa) from Monday to Friday, and some limited flights on weekends.
Chris Wood, general manager of the Region of Waterloo International Airport, says "We're expecting they're going to have very good loads from here. We've done our homework and Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa and then Montreal is the fourth busiest destination."
Bearskin has provided service to Ottawa from Waterloo Region since October 2007.
According to Wood, demand from the business community for the route, a convenient alternative to flying from Toronto, has been strong.
Bearskin Airlines President Harvey Friesen said in a press release, "We'll fly between these cities in less time than it takes to drive between Toronto's Pearson Airport and the Waterloo Region."
Regular one way airfares are expected to range from $158 and $499 not including taxes and surcharges, with reduced fares for students and seniors.
