Average Kitchener homeowner to pay $49 more for city's portion of 2025 property taxes

People living in Kitchener can expect to pay almost $50 more per year on the city’s portion of property taxes in 2025.

The city has officially adopted next year’s budget, featuring a 3.9 per cent tax rate increase.

When the water, sanitary and stormwater utility costs are factored in, the average homeowner will pay a total an additional $131 in 2025.

  • Property tax increase – 3.9 per cent
  • Water utility increase – 4.9 per cent
  • Sanitary sewer utility increase – 6.9 per cent
  • Stormwater utility increase – 7.4 per cent

The 2025 property tax increase was the same as 2024, which was also 3.9 per cent
