A man wanted on four counts of attempted murder and additional charges was arrested Monday, after evading police for nearly two years.

Mark Lucas, 28, is accused of shooting a weapon at four people in June 2012, in the area of King and Wellington streets in Kitchener.

“Three of the four males were injured at the time (and) did require medical treatment. The fourth was unharmed,” said Waterloo Regional Police Staff Sgt. Shaena Morris.

One man was arrested three months later in connection with the shootings, while a Canada-wide warrant was issued for Lucas.

He was found Monday in a New Hamburg-area residence and arrested without incident.

“Ultimately it was the public that assisted us in locating Mr. Lucas,” Morris said.

Police say they continue to investigate the events around the shooting.
