Officers with the Waterloo regional police investigating the reported sex assault in a parking lot of the University of Waterloo, Tuesday night, have determined the assault did not happen. The sexual assault was reported by a female Tuesday evening. After investigation by major case branch investigators, it has been determined that the female’s allegations to the police were not true.

The Waterloo Regional Police would like to remind members of the public that false allegations take a tremendous toll on police resources and making a false complaint to the police constitutes the criminal offence of public mischief. In this matter no charges have been laid.
