Already facing more than 30 charges, a Guelph man had another charge added to his file last week

Appearing at the Guelph courthouse during pre-trial motions, Jeffrey Dakin was told the additional charge was laid Dec. 14, accusing him of luring someone under the age of 18 via computer.

Dakin faces other charges relating to sexual assault and the production of child pornography. He was first arrested in March, after a joint investigation by Canadian, American and European authorities.

“We can outline that there are eight victims and over 30 charges laid in relation to this accused,” said Sgt. Doug Pflug of the Guelph Police Service.

The alleged offences occurred in Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo and Thunder Bay.

Police say their investigation into Dakin is closed, unless other victims come forward.

Prior to his arrest, Dakin was highly involved with the Guelph Little Theatre. He also volunteered with other theatre groups in the area.
