Abigail Bimman joined the CTV Southwestern Ontario news team as a videographer in February 2011.

She came to the station from Studio 12 News/CHEX TV. Working as a videographer and assignment editor, she helped launch an evening news program for Durham Region and also filed daily reports for the sister station in Peterborough.

Abigail has worked in the newsrooms of CTV Ottawa, CTV News Channel and First Local on Rogers TV. Some of her career highlights include producing in Newfoundland for CTV during the 2008 federal election and reporting on children's summer camps in Ukraine for the Canadian Jewish News.

Abigail has had the opportunity to report on life changing stories, including the Vaughan tornado and its aftermath as well as the Chris Little double murder trial.

Abigail graduated with Highest Honours from Carleton University in Ottawa, where she earned a Bachelor of Journalism.

She has extensive experience in community theatre and improvisation, which helps her think on her feet and retain a sense of humour doing so.

Outside the newsroom, Abigail volunteers with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, where she records talking books. She is an avid reader who also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

After shooting and writing reports during the week, Abigail moves to the anchor desk on weekends, to deliver your news at 6:00 and 11:30 pm.
