Someone purchased a $50 million Lotto Max ticket in Cambridge nearly a year ago.
But we may never find out who.
That’s because no one has come forward with the winning ticket and tomorrow is the deadline to claim the prize.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says if no one comes forward it will be the largest unclaimed prize in Canadian history.
Most winning tickets – especially the big jackpots – are claimed. The OLG says only about 1% of the smaller prizes aren’t claimed by the winners.
Pierrette Levesque of Rockland, Ontario wasted no time in coming forward. The 64-year-old retired Canada Post worker cashed in her $20 million winning Lotto 6/49 ticket on Friday.
