Waterloo Regional Police are investigating what may have been the fourth pellet or BB gun shooting in Waterloo’s university district so far this month.

According to police, two people were walking near the intersection of Regina and Hickory streets just before 7 p.m. Sunday when they heard what sounded like a pellet gun being fired.

Responding officers were not able to find any proof of shots being fired.

That incident comes on the heels of one last Thursday at the same intersection, where a man claimed to have heard similar sounds and seen a green light flickering on the sidewalk.

On Labour Day, two students were hit with BBs while walking near Hickory and King streets. One female student received a serious eye injury, while another was hit in the collarbone.
