Three people are accused of perpetrating a violent robbery at a home in Mitchell.

Perth County OPP say the robbery occurred before dawn Sunday, at a home on Francis Street, by three men who knocked on the door and then forced their way in once it was opened for them.

One of the men allegedly restrained and punched the homeowner as the other two scoured the home, stealing electronics, personal documents and other items.

Police dogs were called in to search the area.

Eventually, officers tracked down their suspects at a home elsewhere in Mitchell.

A 30-year-old man from Stratford, a 21-year-old man from West Perth and a 20-year-old man from West Perth are all charged with robbery and other offences.

The items stolen were found along with the three men, police say, and were returned to their owner.

Police say they’re continuing to investigate, and want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious around Francis and St. Andrew streets Sunday morning.
