Two young people have been arrested in connection with the death of a Kitchener man.

Police officers were called to a parking lot on Chandler Drive, near Ottawa Street and Westmount Road, around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

They found one man in the parking lot with serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been made public, although he is believed to be in his 20s.

Police say the two young people were arrested shortly after officers arrived at the scene. They are facing charges of second-degree murder.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act prohibits the publication of information identifying people under the age of 18 years old who are charged with a crime.

On Friday, dozens of evidence markers were seen in a taped-off area of the parking lot. Police said they had forensic investigators on-site and were taking statements from potential witnesses.
