A 16-year-old male is recovering in hospital after a stabbing at a Brantford motel Saturday night.

Police say they were called to Colborne Street at 10:30 p.m.

The victim left his room and was confronted by a group of five people.

The altercation turned bloody and the victim was transported to Hamilton General Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.

Police say this is not a random attack and there are no concerns for public safety.

Police are asking witnesses to come forward. No arrests have been made at this point.
