The man and two women who allegedly ran into a cornfield following a crash involving a stolen U-Haul cargo van are now facing a total of 16 criminal charges.

Waterloo Regional Police say the charges the driver of the vehicle faces include dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and failure to stop at the scene of a collision.

The van – which police considered stolen because it had not been returned to U-Haul – collided with an SUV around 2:15 p.m. Thursday, at the intersection of Trussler and Huron roads in Wilmot Township.

The SUV ended up on its side. Nobody was seriously injured in the crash.
