A Kitchener woman is facing charges after allegedly driving into a woman in a wheelchair while driving in Waterloo.

Waterloo Regional Police say it happened shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday at Weber Street North and Lincoln Road.

They say a 75-year-old woman was trying to cross Weber when she was hit by a vehicle that was making a right turn onto Weber.

She was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The driver of the vehicle, a 47-year-old woman, has been charged with making an unsafe turn and driving in contravention of conditions under the Highway Traffic Act.
