Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of strong winds for parts of southern and central Ontario.

Areas along the Lake Huron shoreline will see strong winds as the day progresses.

Forecasters say wind gusts to 80 kilometres an hour will be possible along the eastern shores of the Great Lakes today, and are expected to diminish tonight.

And there's a snow squall watch for Searchmont, Montreal River Harbour, Batchawana Bay, Agawa and Lake Superior Park.

Environment Canada warns motorists to expect low visibility in snow squalls in those regions today.
