Police say 30 people have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday morning execution of 28 search warrants at locations across southern Ontario.
More than 100 charges have been laid against the 30 accused thus far, with more charges pending.
Early Wednesday morning, police raided homes and properties in Kitchener, Cambridge, Elmira, Elora, Fergus, Palmerston, Dundalk, Whitechurch, Toronto, Kingston and Lyndhurst Township.
Eight of the 28 properties were in Waterloo Region, including at least three Kitchener locations – on Queens Boulevard, Vanier Drive and Lorne Avenue.
According to police, items seized from the residences include 31 guns, 1,075 rounds of ammunition, one explosive device, two sets of brass knuckles, 16 vehicles and almost $80,000 in Canadian and American currency.
Also seized were methamphetamine, powder and crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, fentanyl patches and prescription pills with an approximate total street value of $225,000.
Police say the seizures represent “a significant disruption of the illegal drug trade of methamphetamines and heroin.”
