For the second straight weekend, southern Ontario will see significantly warmer temperatures than experienced during the work week.

It all begins Saturday, as the jet stream moves north, taking cold air away from southern Canada and parts of the United States.

In Waterloo-Wellington, where temperatures were hovering around -5 C Friday afternoon, Saturday’s forecast high of 5 C will provide a stark contrast.

Some regions will see even warmer temperatures – Environment Canada is calling for highs of 7 C in Huron-Perth and 6 C in Oxford-Brant, with Grey-Bruce in the same range.

Those temperatures will hold steady through Saturday night, although across our coverage area, a 30 or 40 per cent chance of rain is likely all day and night.

Sunday is shaping up to be even warmer, with forecast highs of 12 C in Waterloo-Wellington, Oxford-Brant and Huron-Perth, and 11 C in Grey-Bruce, and a 60 per cent chance of showers in each of those areas.

Temperatures will quickly cool down as the work week begins.
