Police set up at three locations in Waterloo Region on Thursday to stop and check commercial vehicles.

A total of 108 vehicles were stopped, Waterloo Regional Police say – and 24 of those 108 were taken out of service as a result of police inspections.

Police also laid 66 charges, most of which they say related to insecure loads, defective brakes, improper tires, overweight vehicles and documentation errors.

The OPP also participated in the blitz, as did police officers from Guelph and Aylmer.
