The head of London's firefighters' union says he's frustrated that the city isn't bringing firefighters pay in line with the salaries of similar municipalities.

John Hassan spoke out after the city announced a new contract for its police officers, giving them a 4.8 per cent raise over four years.

The city is still in talks with London firefighters, with arbitration on the 2011-2014 contract expected to continue into next spring.

Hassan says London firefighters are around five-thousand dollars behind similar municipalities.
