Barrie police say they have arrested two people wanted in connection with a gunpoint abduction and the victim is safe.

Investigators say they made the arrest on Saturday afternoon. The two suspects are currently in custody.

Police say the abduction happened just before noon on Dunlop Street East. A man allegedly exited a Dodge Magnum held a black firearm in the air, before placing it down on top of the car’s roof.

Police say the man then made numerous demands for the woman, who is believed to be under the age of 18, to get in the car. She complied and the car took off.

Police are still investigating.
