Two Sarnia residents have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Noelle Paquette.
Paquette, a teacher in Sarnia, went missing after a New Year’s Eve party in Sarnia.
Dozens of volunteers aided police in a search for Paquette.
Wednesday morning, Lambton County OPP were called after a body was discovered in a woodlot on Mandaumin Road, in a rural area southeast of Sarnia.
The body was identified as that of Paquette on Thursday, and police said the death was considered suspicious.
Late Thursday afternoon, police arrested 31-year-old Tanya Bogdanovich and 19-year-old Michael MacGregor in London.
The two are currently in custody and expected to appear in Sarnia court for a bail hearing Friday afternoon.
An autopsy began Thursday and is expected to continue today in London.
Friends and family have set up a Facebook page as a memorial to Noelle. By Friday morning, more than five thousand people had "liked" the page.
"What we'll miss the most will be her smile and her laughter, and just the joy. She was the one who brought everyone the most joy," friend Kyle Braatz told CTV.
Sarnia Police Service and Lambton County OPP will continue to work together on the investigation.
