The Kitchener Rangers opened training camp at the Auditorium on Wednesday night and the team is ready for a fresh start after missing the OHL playoffs last year.  Over 40 players are in camp battling for a spot on the roster.

Forward Gustaf Franzen is one of the new faces this season after being drafted 4thoverall in the CHL import draft earlier this summer.  Franzen played last year in Sweden recording 11 goals in 39 games.

The Rangers play their first game of the pre-season on Sunday afternoon hosting the Mississauga Steelheads at 2:00 pm.  Before the game, the team will hold their annual fan barbecue in the Auditorium parking lot.

The Guelph Storm report to training camp this afternoon and their first on-ice session is on Friday at the Sleeman Centre.  The Storm are the defending OHL champions.
