Environment Canada had issued a tornado warning for Guelph, Erin, Southern Wellington County, Region of Waterloo, Kitchener, and Cambridge.

As of 7:08 p.m., the warning has ended.

A severe thunderstorm warning for many areas across southern Ontario was also issued.

Surrounding areas were estimated to see 50 to 100 mm of torrential rain. Flash flooding was also possible.

Severe thunderstorm warnings had been in place for:

  •    Halton Hills - Milton
  •    Caledon
  •    Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  •    Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  •    Orangeville - Grand Valley - Southern Dufferin County
  •    Shelburne - Mansfield - Northern Dufferin County
  •    Innisfil - New Tecumseth - Angus
  •    Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
  •    Orillia - Lagoon city - Washago.

A thunderstorm warning is still in place for Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County, as of 7:46 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch was issued for the following areas:

  •    Belleville - Quinte - Northumberland
  •    Napanee - Consecon
  •    Peterborough - Kawartha Llakes
