A Waterloo based food truck operator says they are the victims of a theft.

“It was a full day's work, a whole day of sales. They took $4200,” says Fo-Cheezy food truck operator Manish Patel.

Patel says that after working at the Busker Carnival in Waterloo all day Friday, his team cleaned up the truck then stopped for about half an hour to get a drink.

When they came back they found the window of one of their vehicles smashed and their cash box gone.

They are hoping that someone saw something between midnight and 1 a.m. in the Uptown Waterloo parking lot and will come forward.

“Someone had to have heard or saw something. The window was smashed, glass all around, a lot of people were about, as well as taxi cabs,” adds Patel.

Police say they are investigating the theft and are reminding people to hide any valuables left in your car.
