Two Windsor men are facing charges after a homeowner in Vanastra, east of Bayfield, Ont. walked in on a break and enter in progress.

Wednesday afternoon around 2:15, the owner of a home on Winnipeg Road in Vanastra, along with a friend, came home to find five men in his home.

The men identified themselves as police officers and attempted to arrest the homeowner using handcuffs. The man became suspicious and a brief struggle ensued.

One of the intruders sprayed the victims with pepper spray and the five men left.

They fled the scene in a dark blue 2005 Crown Victoria. The look-a-like police car had tinted windows and a side spot light attached to the driver’s side. The victims immediately contacted police.

Around 3:30 p.m. the car was spotted near Watford and stopped by Lambton County OPP on Confederation Line.

Two occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody and face numerous charges including break and enter, personating an officer and weapons charges.
