A teenage boy was assaulted and robbed on Thursday evening.

The 13-year-old was standing outside near the Country Hills Community Centre on Rittenhouse Road around 9:30 p.m.

Police say he was approached by an unknown man who demanded he hand over his phone. The boy was then shoved to the ground and his phone was taken.

The suspect was confronted by some witnesses but pulled a knife on them. He then fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male, 15-20 years old with average height and build.

He was wearing a black or dark-coloured shirt and blue jeans.

The victim didn’t suffer any injuries.
