The Elmira Sugar Kings opened their pre-season on Tuesday night with a solid effort at home against the Kitchener Dutchmen.  The Sugar Kings took control of the game in the 2nd period scoring 4 goals and they beat Kitchener 7-2 at the Dan Snyder Arena. 

Eric Palazzolo led the way for Elmira scoring 2 goals, including a shorthanded marker in the 3rd period.  Colin Martin also chipped in with a pair of goals. 

Josh Argier and Jordan DeLaurier scored for Kitchener in the loss.  The pre-season continues on Wednesday with the Waterloo Siskins visiting the Brantford 99ers and and the Stratford Cullitons on the road in London. 

The regular season kicks off in the Midwestern Conference on Tuesday September 9th with the Dutchmen hosting the Brampton Bombers at Kinsmen Arena.
