In a minor OUA upset, the Guelph Gryphons men’s basketball team fell 85-74 to the Waterloo Warriors Wednesday night. 

With Waterloo leading 32-31 at halftime, the Warriors outscored the Gryphons 14-4 over the last five minutes of the third quarter to take a ten-point lead heading into the fourth.

The Warriors were led by game-high scorers Kyrie Coleman and Jaspreet Gill with 22 and 21 points respectively.  Leading the Gryphons in scoring were Dan McCarthy and Kareem Malcolm with 17 points each.

The Gryphons fall to 5-9 on the season while the Warriors improve to 3-11.

Guelph’s women’s basketball team snapped its six-game losing streak with an 82-61 victory over the Waterloo Lady Warriors.

Fifth-year Gryphon Jasmine Douglas tallied a double-double, recording 18 points and 13 rebounds.  The win was Guelph’s first since December 1st.
