The Listowel Cyclones finished in first place for a reason. Just ask the Waterloo Siskins.

The top-seeded Cyclones erupted for seven unanswered goals over the final 32 minutes to blitz the Siskins 7-1 and grab a 2-0 series lead in their GOJHL Midwestern semi-final.

Down 1-0, Listowel’s Cullen Mercer tied the game at the 8:04 mark of the second period.

Six minutes later, Holdyn Lansink and Brady Anderson scored 50 seconds apart and the Cyclones never looked back.

Jamie Huber led the winners with one goal and three assists, while Lansink had one goal and two assists.

Game #3 goes tonight (8:00 pm) at the Listowel Arena.
