The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics takes place today.

Members of law enforcement and local special athletes will carry the Flame of Hope through Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.

The torch will arrive at Cambridge police headquarters before being passed on to Guelph Police Chief Jeff Deruyter to continue the opening ceremonies in Guelph on Thursday.

Special Olympics events will run all weekend in Guelph and Waterloo Region.
