The commute to work may have taken a lot longer this morning. The snowfall made for some slippery and dangerous conditions out there.

The snow began around 6 am, just as commuters were heading out. Police say there have been 29 collisions on roadways in Waterloo Region,

In at least four crashes police says there were reports of minor injuries. Police say that's up to quadruple the number of accidents in a regular day.

Just after 7 am at highway 7/8 between Nafzinger and New Hamburg a SUV lost control, crossed the centre line and knocked the rear wheels off a transport truck.

At another collision, this one just before 10 am, near the intersection of Davenport and Northfield, a vehicle lost control and flipped onto its roof.
