LONDON, Ont. - A six-year-old child who was injured after being hit by a car that crashed through the front doors of a London, Ont., Costco has died.
On Friday, the collision injured six and caused panic among those shopping in the busy store (on Wellington Road South).
Police have identified the six-year-old child as Addison Hall.
They say three people remain in hospital, including a woman in fair condition and two children who are in critical condition.
For reasons that still aren't clear, a car reversed into the front of the Costco. In addition to the woman and her children, three others were treated for minor injuries, including the driver of the car.
Costco shut down for several hours. They reopened Saturday, and the front doors are now filled with flowers, teddy bears and messages of support.
There were hundreds of people in the store Friday when the car plowed through the doors.
“It almost looked like a tornado, all I saw were piles of shattered glass flying in through the two doors. I saw the car then coming through,” said a witness.
“I guess we're lucky more people weren't hurt because it's a busy spot on a Friday morning,” added another.
There's no word yet on any charges.
Police continue to investigate and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
