Six people, ranging in age from 15 to 22, are facing charges after a break-and-enter in Guelph.

Police say they were called to an under-construction townhouse on Imperial Road, just south of Willow Road, after receiving reports of a group of people entering the building and damaging it.

The first officers to arrive at the scene, shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, saw six people running from the area.

One officer called out to the suspects to stop running.

Five of the suspects stopped and were arrested. The sixth continued to run and was tracked down in a hiding spot about one kilometre from the scene.

Facing charges are David Oldershaw, 22, Jacob Van Norman, 19, along with a 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and two 15-year-old girls who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

All six were charged with mischief as well as breaking and entering.

Oldershaw was also charged with breaching probation.
