Kitchener Panthers slugger Sean Reilly accomplished a rare feat this season becoming just the 3rd player in IBL history to achieve the triple crown.  Reilly led the Intercounty Baseball League in average (.444) home runs (17) and runs batted in (48) helping the Panthers finish in second place in the standings.  The last IBL player to achieve the triple crown was Phil Turner in 1981 and before that Wilmer Fields in 1955.

Reilly and the Panthers face the Hamilton Cardinals in the first round of the playoffs starting tonight at Jack Couch Park.  Kitchener beat Hamilton in all five meetings during the regular season, outscoring the Cardinals 57-18.

The Guelph Royals begin the postseason on Saturday night against the Barrie Baycats.  Game 2 is Tuesday August 4th at Hastings Stadium in Guelph.
