The Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame recognized 8 high school athletes from Cambridge on Thursday afternoon handing out 200 dollar scholarships. But there was also a 2000 dollar scholarship and the winner of the Bob Cunningham award is Keristen May from the Preston Panthers. The 17 year old is a multi-sport athlete, competing in basketball, volleyball and rugby for the Panthers. May will be attending the University of Guelph this fall.
Kayla Leusink, Kristine Boileau, Jonathan Petro, Bethany Clipper, Nicole Smith, Thomas Nitz and Tyler Martin received the 200 dollar scholarships. Bob Cummingham personally donates the money for the scholarships to assist young students with their university education.
The event was held at the Blackshop restaurant in Cambridge.
