Remains found at the home of Stephan and Seble Dietrich are in fact those of the woman who was last seen in July 2014, Guelph Police say.

The remains were found last Thursday – two days after her husband was charged with first-degree murder.

They were taken to Toronto for forensic tests, which concluded that the remains did belong to the 39-year-old woman.

Police allege that Stephan Dietrich killed his wife on the same day she went missing – sparking a lengthy search into what was termed a “suspicious” disappearance.

Stephan Dietrich is also charged with obstructing police.

He remains in custody.
