The Brantford Red Sox pulled into a three way tie for 3rd place on Monday night with a convincing 8-1 win over the Guelph Royals at Hastings Stadium.  Former Royals pitcher Andrew Van Wout tossed a gem for Brantford going 8 2/3 innings with 8 strikeouts. Offensively Will Richards had a big night for Brantford with 4 hits and 2 runs batted in.

 The Royals only run of the night came on a solo home run from Justin Interisano.  Brantford, Guelph and Kitchener are now all tied for 3rd place in the standings with the regular season set to end this weekend. 

Guelph returns to action on Tuesday night hosting the Toronto Maple Leafs.  The Red Sox travel to Barrie for a matchup against the league leading Baycats.  First pitch for both games is at 7:30pm.
