Attention, southern Ontario: You have now entered the rainy season -- or at least the closest thing to it you'll find in late July.

Across our viewing area, Environment Canada is forecasting at least a 30 per cent chance of rain for every day between now and Wednesday.

In Waterloo-Wellington, forecasts call for a high of 24 C and a risk of thunderstorms through the day, but rain to intensify in the afternoon.

Sunday will see a 40 per cent chance of showers with a high of 26 C, and temperatures will cool down moving into the work week – even as the risk of rain heats up.

Huron and Perth counties will see similar weather, although it won’t get quite as warm – Sunday’s forecast high is only 24 C as of Friday afternoon, to be followed by a high of 19 C on Monday.

Rain will be later to arrive in Oxford-Brant – there’s only a 30 per cent risk of showers until Saturday night – but will likely hang around through the night and perhaps into Sunday.

It’s the same story in Grey-Bruce, albeit with cooler temperatures – forecast highs of 23 C and 22 C over the weekend, then barely reaching 20 C until later in the week.
